Made from “A” Grade Siberian Larch, ‘Raven’ has had a medium level of firing, giving a stunning darker black look. It is fired, then brushed and treated with oil, so although black the surface is smooth as before the process.
PermaChar timber has undergone fire treatment to preserve it. This charred timber process originated in Japan – known there as “Shou sugi ban”. It protects against fire, wind, rain, rot & insects.
Profile choices of our charred timber are available from the drop down menu above. The ‘shadowgap’ profile, or ‘channel’ profile is suitable for cladding external walls of new or old properties.
